Dream Your 2022 Dream

Dear Reader,

As this new year has commenced, it is an opportunity to dream your dream. The dreams that have been dreamt for you may not be a fit for you as dreams are not one size fits all. Dreaming opens a world of opportunities for you and allows your vision to help you to better clarify your personal perspective. Your personal perspective on your life belongs to you; so please own it.

This year, I am encouraging my patients to dream their dreams and to dream big. In honor of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King’s memory and his legacy I am inspired to write a note of inspiration as a source of encouragement and or reminder to encourage you to dream big.

How many times do we find ourselves living in the dreams and aspirations of others? How often when we realize this fact, do we notice that has time passed and we feel empty or unfulfilled? Time passes and waits on no person.

Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King taught us the value of dreaming, sharing the dream and living the dream by taking no moment for granted. His dream expanded beyond all races, religions, socio-economic statuses, genders, and cultures. His dream encompassed a world of differences as a beauty of the whole world not as a divisive force to cause dissentions among us. His dream instead invited the embodiment and embrace of differences to shine a light on one’s personal experience, opinion and or viewpoint being collectively shared for the purposes of informing, enlightening, validating not for tearing one another down. The light is for sharing, inviting, invoking and enlightening others to the beautiful and unique world of you.

I am inspired to encourage you to dream your dreams as your dreams can only evoke an evolution of you that no one else can do for you. The beauty of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King’s dream is that he dreamed his dream for you and for me. If we dream our dreams they will fulfill his dream as we seek to aspire to heights and depths that can be only lived in your lifetime as you were designed to do. Contrary to dreaming your dreams opens the door for someone’s reality to be imparted to you, for you that can ultimately hinder you.

I invite you to use your dreams to your therapy experience for the purpose of supporting your vision for yourself and help you to realize your dream as we are evolving in Reverend Dr. Martin Luther Kings dream today.

Humbly submitted,
Donna
